We had a wonderful fun-packed day at Stockeld Park. We visited for the first time for their Christmas Adventure as a family of four; me, husband, son 15, and daughter, 2. It’s usually hard to find something to entertain both kids, but this event had it all! The Christmas atmosphere was amazing from the moment we stepped out of the car with the whole place covered in pretty lights, Christmas trees and the sound of Christmas music playing.
The Playhive
We started our day at the indoor Playhive, this place was amazing! So many different themed areas to suit all ages, from small playground areas to huge, exciting slides, even our teenager was up and down the giant slides. So much to explore and lots of interactive areas to entertain. The whole place was immaculate and so well organized. The Playhive Pizzeria looked and smelled amazing too!
Outdoor Parks
The outdoor parks were some of the best I’ve seen, they are suitable for all ages and the entire park has play areas dotted all over the place, which made walking through the park exciting for the kids, especially our toddler.
Ice Skating
The ice rink was brilliant, we all loved it, our ice skating ticket offered unlimited use of the rink within the opening hours. They also offer free of charge protective helmets and pads for children and you can hire a skating aid (penguin or snowman) for the little ones at a charge of £2.50. They played Christmas music and the atmosphere was great!
Snowflake Maze
We had great fun in the maze, it was harder than it looks to escape! Both kids really enjoyed themselves and it was big enough to manoeuvre the pushchair throughout.
Grotto Experience
The whole experience was lovely, with lots to look at and interact with while we queued. We met the elves, had a chat with Rudolf and finally met Santa in his cosy grotto and left with a lovely present for our little one. We also had a great family picture taken which we were able to buy for £10 at the end of the visit.
Enchanted Forest
We waited until it was dark to take full advantage of this amazing display. The walk through with a small child took around 40-mins, this was because there was so much to do throughout the trail; including play areas, interactive features and musical instruments. The lights and music were magical, and the water fountain light display at the end was brilliant!
The park was well equipped with immaculate facilities, food and beverage cabins, buggy parks, café’s and shop (including a Christmas tree shop).
