There are five GO Gateshead leisure centres offering swimming lessons from babies through to teens. Unlimited free swimming is included for children enrolled in lessons during public sessions at all Gateshead pools, plus for under 4s the accompanying adult also swims for free.
Children are welcome to join at anytime, just register your interest online (subject to availability, there may be a waiting list and it may be advisable to join one of the many alternate classes!). Prices range from £16.28-£22 per month, plus a £15 joining fee if necessary. Reduced prices apply for holders of GO Gateshead Access, LPDC and LAC cards.

These classes are aimed at babies with an accompanying adult, in groups of up to 12 adults. The adult does not need to be the same each week. ‘I Can’ and Discovery Duckling 1 and 2 awards will be followed.

An independent swimming experience without an accompanying adult. Classes will be in small groups of six and the teacher will be in the water with the children. Duckling 1-2 awards will be followed.
Three year olds who would benefit from an accompanying adult initially are welcome to join Toddler Swimming Lessons until confidence is built.
– Age 3-4, Duckling Awards 1-2.

An independent swimming experience without an accompanying adult. Classes will be in small groups of six and the teacher will be in the water with the children. Duckling 3-4 awards will be followed.
