A big thanks to those who put forward nominations for Local Lockdown Heroes – and an even bigger thanks to the fab individuals below who’ve done such amazing things for their community during lockdown! It’s really inspiring finding out about how people have made a difference during these difficult times.
Although the initial closing date for nominations has passed, I’d love to hear more – there are many more Local Lockdown Heroes out there whose community spirit, support and positivity deserve a mention! If you know someone who has gone above and beyond during lockdown, please let me know here, nominations have been extended until 30th July.
Charlie and Lucie Robinson ❤It’s lovely to see kids who care so much about the environment, they’ve done a wonderful job raising money for Chester Zoo with their walks, and have improved the local area picking up litter along the way, well done! 🧡For two young people they have took it upon themselves to raise money for an excellent cause and clean up their local area in the meantime. 💛They have done a fantastic job cleaning up local areas raising money and spreading awareness about our environment. Estelle Watkins ❤She’s absolutely amazing and has done a fantastic thing for our community. I walk past Colin every day and love to see all the new stones that have been put down. At a time when everyone was bored and feeling down she gave everyone something to do and lifted everyone’s spirits xxx 🧡Estelle and her son started off a colin the covid snake of painted rocks and asked locals to join in. Evan Davis ❤A wonderful young man thinking of others during such difficult times, fantastic effort climbing three peaks in one day (Penshaw Monument, Roseberry Topping, Tunstall Hill) to raise money for the NHS. It must be so hard and upsetting knowing how hard his mam is working but yet he’s working very hard to raise money for the NHS. 🧡This amazing boy came up with the fantastic idea of climbing three local peaks to raise money for our NHS Heroes during this awful time. He did this always with a smile on his face and managed to raise over £350. So proud of him! 💛Fantastic achievement and well done for climbing those three hills in one day and for raising so much money for our well deserved NHS. Well done Evan you’ve done your community proud! 💚Evan has done an amazing job climbing 3 peaks to raise money and is an inspiration to others during these trying times. Well done and all money raised went to NHS !! Go Evan. 💙Thinking of others at such a young age. Limara Miller ❤Limara has been making stickers to thank nhs staff for their support during the pandemic and raising money for these stickers, she has also done a teddy bear stickers hunt around Leam Lane park too for children to find. 🧡Limara sat for hours making rainbows, hearts, teddy bears for the kids and ended up raising over £3,000 pound for Gateshead QE hospital. A selfless lady with a heart of gold. 💛She started off making Rainbows for free to brighten people’s days. Someone suggested leaving donations which she rolled with and made over £3,000 for the staff at the QE. 💚Doing an amazing job making rainbow hearts and bears stickers and teddy bear hunt in park. Lovely for the kids and she’s raised so much money for staff at QE. 💙Making lovely rainbows and raising over £3000 for the QE hospital, and creating a Teddy hunt around the local park which parents and children enjoyed. 💜She has done amazing job making people smile though this lockdown, and still making time for her lovely family and children. ❤She’s went above and beyond to raise money for the QE by making window stickers, she’s truly got a heart of gold. 🧡She lives in my street and the money she raised for the NHS was amazing with her Stay safe stickers. 💛Made all the rainbows and donated all the money to NHS and paid for them out of her own pocket. 💚For doing an amazing job creating stickers and collecting for the Queen Elizabeth Hospital. 💙Making rainbows and other stickers for donations for the QE staff, raised loads. 💜For raising money for local hospital and doing things for our community. ❤For all she did for the NHS and gave the community some good spirit 🧡Made a bear hunt in the park for the kids for their daily walk. 💛Making rainbows for the locals to raise money for the QE. 💚Fantastic fundraiser during lockdown. 💙For bringing the community together. 💜Raising funds for local hospital. ❤Donated a lot of money to NHS.
Sophie Gordon ❤For her efforts in trying keep our local people and across the country singing every week, sometimes 2 or 3 times a week online with social groups, and helping to entertain everyone during lockdown but also helping to raise funds for NHS and our KeyWorkers. 🧡For never giving up and always wanting to entertain everyone during lockdown – singing almost every week online with various music groups to keep everyone entertained. 💛She helped keep all of our neighbourhood entertained during lockdown and also sang for the NHS staff who were doing amazing looking after COVID-19 patients. 💚Fantastic to see how in this difficult time it can bring out the best in people, well done for putting your talents to good use x 💙Sophie did a live virtual gig in our virtual bar in Scotland and she was amazing. 💜A young lady with a lovely voice and a big heart helping others. ❤For entertaining the local street and giving people a smile. 🧡For entertaining people via live music sets. 💛Lovely singer keeping everyone entertained. 💚For her efforts with music during lockdown. 💙Kept everyone entertained during lockdown. 💜Top class performance kept us entertained. ❤She is an inspiration to us all. 🧡Beautiful Singer. 💛Gorgeous singer.
Toney Adoniadis ❤For all his work organising the We are the World digital singalong, bringing people together during lockdown and raising money for the QE.
