Guest Blog from Liz – Norwich Mumbler
From My Window Art
In Spain, a movement has started called #frommywindow. Children are encouraged to put their arts and crafts in the windows so people walking past can see.
Now the idea has spread around the world, including great shamrocks for St Patrick’s Day and wonderful rainbows. In some areas it’s forming an art gallery trail across the neighbourhood.
We decided to try stained glass window art, with some tips from Misterart.com
You can print off templates or just use your imagination. Have a go, and see if you can cheer up your neighbours with lovely window art!
Materials
Step 1:
Draw your design on the black paper. It’s completely up to you. We chose to do a butterfly, a geometric pattern and a car!
Step 2:
Cut out the sections in the middle of the design
Step 3:
Cut or tear shapes and strips of different coloured tissue paper
Step 4:
Arrange the tissue paper on the back and experiment with where you want it before glueing!
Step 5:
Start glueing! By overlapping and layering different colours, you can get some cool mixing effects.
Step 6:
Let it dry…
Step 7:
Display on your windows for all to enjoy! (Difficult to take a picture of my window, but it looks great from the garden!)
Rainbow Trail
Or why not make a Rainbow for your window, and see how other many rainbows the kids can spot around the neighbourhood. Click here to download and print a Mumbler Rainbow.
