Each year, The Big Lunch brings millions of people together across the UK on the first weekend in June. This year is extra special as The Big Jubilee Lunch is part of the official celebrations for HM The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee weekend – 2nd-5th June 2022!
Land of Oak & Iron Heritage Centre are proud to be hosting one of the official Jubilee Beacons. Celebrate this historic milestone with an evening of music and food from 7-10pm on Thursday 2nd June, including music from the Caedmon Choir and Northumbrian Piper Theus De’Ath, and food from Lucca Pizza and Scoops n Smiles traditional ice-cream van, then the lighting of the Beacon at 9.45pm.
We will also have a fun family-friendly Royal trail, kid’s crafts, biscuit decorating with ‘Royal’ icing, giant outdoor games, Scoops n Smiles ice-cream, special cafe menu and much more to enjoy 2nd – 5th June.
