Introduction to Birdwatching Course, Land of Oak & Iron

May 15, 2022 @ 8:00 am - 11:00 am

|Recurring Event (See all)

An event every week that begins at 8:00 am on Sunday, repeating until May 16, 2022

The Land of Oak and Iron are pleased to announce this new 3 week course. Local ornithologist and naturalist Michael Turner will deliver this detailed course based on three field trips into the Lower Derwent Valley.

We will visit a range of different habitats including woodland, farmland, river and wetland to learn about the different bird species to be found here. If restrictions allow we will also visit the bird hide at Far Pastures. Each session will begin with an overview of that day’s field trip and end with an informal Q&A and discussion over tea or coffee at the Heritage Centre, Winlaton Mill.

The average distance walked on each session will be about 2 miles. Footpaths will vary from flat paths to steep woodland tracks and steps. May be unsuitable for those with mobility issues. Sorry, no dogs please.

👉 £47.50 per person (includes a hot drink). BOOKING ESSENTIAL.
📆 Sundays, 1st, 8th & 15th May.
