You may be aware of the traffic congestion issues around Trinity Square recently, which were further exacerbated by heavier traffic due to several events taking place on the weekend of 17th-19th September.
Gateshead Council have released a statement confirming that changes will be made to the road layout from Friday 24th September 2021 to help simplify traffic movements. You can find a summary of the key points below, along with a map to help visualise the changes.
Gateshead Council have stated that further analysis will take place in the medium term to improve the management of traffic flows, including at Bensham roundabout (junction of A184 and B1426), Regent Terrace/Charles Street and the Park Lane roundabout.
